Sometime a product is worth taking the time to review - and this is one of them. I previously bought their Toe and Nail Clipper set and gave them a 5 star review. (Harperton Nail Clipper Set - Fingernail + Toenail - Stainless Steel). Not to take away from the Toenail Clipper included in the set - it's designed like everyone elses - but the Toe Clipper is not quite doing the job on my thick fungussed big toenails. Disgusting, I know - too much information, I know. An Amazon add popped up on my account for these Nippit's and since I was familiar with the quality of the other Harperton product I decided to purchase these. What a great product !!! Just be careful - whatever gets into the cutting blades will be cut. The big grip handles really make cutting thick nails a cinch. See below the Nail Clipper it's replacing. This Griff clipper was made in Germany and served me for 40 years but the blades have dulled and I require more leverage to cut old nails.

Bought two other large gap clippers that work well, but these are the best of all I have.
The large foam covered handles fit easily in the hand and require only the closing of the hand to clip the nail. They do not require pinching with two fingers but squeezing with the whole hand. Easier to use if swollen finger joints.
Very well made and extremely sharp. Easily clip very thick nails with much less effort than pinching style nail clippers. Unique side positioned shearing face lets you easily position the two blades to make you clipping occurs where you want to clip, even with thick nails.
One really must pay attention when clipping their nails as the cutting surfaces are very sharp and the large gap makes it very easy to position it where you need it to be, but it also lets you put it where you might not want to make a cut...
I am very happy I purchased these Clipper. I have purchased other clipper of the side shearing design, but they do not work 1/2 as well as these do.
The others did not provide the mechanical advantage to pressure the cut and the blades were not as sharp and did not cut through the nail with no effort.

In my opinion, these are a very effective professional clipper, but one really must pay attention when using them. They can be use like a nipper to cut the nail a little at a time of just one cut.
If I had one thing I could have changed with them, it would be that I wish the handles were a little bit longer than they are. I know all hands are different, but I would like them a little longer. The foam does help keep the clippers steady in the hand.
I would, however, buy them again, just as they are.
My hubby is diabetic so his feet require special attention. We recently went to a Podiatrist to have his toenails trimmed and I decided to just buy some great clippers and do it myself. These work great! Saves us trips to the doctor for toe-nail trimming - his nails are so thick and hard! Highly recommend them.
I love these!! I got for elderly mom who's toe nails are thick brittle and ucky!! I tried these out myself first. I love that these are HEAVY duty!! They have a lever u move in/out to use and a tip cover. They feel comfortable in the hand, nice and big. They also have a flat end so when you use they are straight. They cut mine with no problems. Will update when I do my mothers. I just can't say enough great things about these. I never knew/looked for great clippers, only seen cheaper ones I've been using, but those are in trash and I'm going to get a pair for my husband. Thanx Amazon for putting these on the deals otherwise I would never have thot about searching for clippers.

Only fair to review these. The shape is excellent and will prove to be a wise investment for years to come. I am plagued with ingrown toenails on my big toe, inner nail bed. Generally solved by cutting at a very hard angle and grabbing the long end and pulling to continue the tear and remove the nail from my toe. Not always a success, as my most recent was bad enough to look for another solution. Was able to cut further down, and remove the ingrown portion of the nail. No pain or issues cutting, and instant relief once the ingrown portion was removed.
Awesome! No pain! Husband has thick fungal toenails and normally uses his pocket knife to whittle them down some. He fears nail nippers because they normally crush the nail instead of cutting it nicely. Not with these! They cleanly cut the thickest nails without crushing or twisting. The drugstore ones are already in the trash, and as a bonus, now the tea tree oil has a chance of working because it is hitting deeper nail tissue. By the way, "Dr nail clipper" on YouTube has great videos on how to manage these fungal nightmares.
These are no B.S. clippers. My toenails get ingrown every few months and I have to cut them out so I have been using some cheaper ones. They do OK but are hard to use and get all the nail out. These are like gold. My wife got ahold of them and went to town on my toenail that started to get ingrown. She could cut it all out in a couple minutes. These things will definitely do the trick for any type of toenails and cut out ingrown toenails easy. Don't go with the cheap clippers...get these and they will be the last ones you need to buy. And no I did not receive an discount for my review.
I got these thinking they are normal toenail scissors. Perhaps they are, but I cannot figure out how to use them that way. However, they are great for doing intricate snipping and working on ingrown toenails.
Harperton's Nippit is a high quality tool that exceeded all my expectations in a toe nail clipper. I'm an old tool guy and fly tyer and I know a quality tool when I use it. The Nippit is both safe and easy to use. I held off buying it for quite some time because of the cost but after reading all the great reviews several times I decided to make the purchase after trimming the end of my toe with my old cheapy nail clippers, ouch. Now I actually look forward to trimming my toe nails because I really do enjoy using a high quality tool that does a great job. There is absolutely no comparison between the Nippit's style versus the regular old fashion nail clipper style. It is very easy to hold in your hand and easy to control. The way the tool is shaped it is also very easy to see exactly what you are trimming so it minimizes any mis-cuts. It is very sharp and takes very little pressure to make a cut. I really gave it a good look under a lighted magnifying glass and was very impressed with the workmanship of the tool. I'll never go back to the old style of nail trimmer. My old trimmer went into the trash can after using my new Nippit. Harperton's customer care is pretty amazing too. I haven't had any problems with the tool so I didn't need help there but they have a wonderful rewards/perc program that is offered in the manual that comes with the Nippit. I'll leave it at that, but I did have a couple of email exchanges with the company in regards to my satisfaction with their product and their goodie program and was super impressed with their customer care. They're a small family business and they offer the old fashion customer service that all of us old timers miss. If you're looking for a toe nail clipper or for any tool that Harperton makes then just buy it and you will be happy with your purchase. I am and am now looking at their other products because I know what kind of tool I'll get for my money. I'm a big Amazon Prime shopper but I've only left a handful of reviews even though I rely on them when I make my purchases. This was one of the few because their product and customer service were both super exceptional.
