I just received this today and used it immediately. It worked perfectly and resolved my problem toenail: both icky thick and repulsively ingrown. Whatever toenail problem you are having, it could not be worse than this. Here are some things that I want to recommend when using this product:
1.Begin your use of this product with the least concerning, easiest to cut nail(s) so as to acquaint yourself before tackling THE nail(s). For me, the nails on the foot opposite the side on which I am "handed" were the easiest to eye-hand coordinate. THE nail was on the "handed side" foot but I did that nail last so that I had some comfort with what was required. And I TOOK MY TIME.
2. Don't think "cutting" but think "nibbling." Pick a small portion of the nail and just nibble/nip your way across it, using not much more than just the tip of the cutting surface and continuing on until you have achieved your goal for that nail. This will become clearer to you when you actually use the implement.

problem(s). Just don't rush the process. Take all the time you need and enjoy your accomplishment. And remember: "Nibble".
I thought these nippers seemed a bit pricey to me when I was searching but I was tired of constantly replacing cheaper versions I had before and decided to give these a shot. They are WELL WORTH the money. Everyone knows that the professional quality manicure tools are the best and sharpest around, and I believe this set of nippers is no different. They come in a tin case with a lid and are resting in foam padding to protect the tip and blades. They include an extra spring for the handle as well. The actual nippers will work for anything from delicate cuticles to tougher jobs such as toes and ingrown nails as well. They are made of stainless steel and they have a good sharp point for detail work and a wide mouth to get even the toughest toe nails. The handles instead of being straight metal that can dig into your palm during use and be painful, they have made the handles with covers that have a nice soft grip and are easy to hold and use. Because they are stainless you can easily rinse them underwater or disinfect them with chemicals. They are a perfect addition to the home manicure and pedicure kit. The blades are nice and sharp and I plan to send them out from time to time for professional sharpening. They may seem expensive but I think they are well worth every penny for the quality I see and have now experienced in using this nipper.
Unbelievable. Really sharp--they could truly amputate a toe. Also used it on my mom whose toes have been a problem for 85 years. She thought I was a miracle worker. Bought this with Macs professional ingrown toe nail file with a straight and curved end and ingrown toe nail cleaner double ended 6". That tool is sort of like a tiny scoop that works great at removing all that dead flaking nail junk. I'm an RN and have worked on nails all my life. Why didn't I spend the money and buy these years ago? Takes me half the time to spruce up my family as it did when I was using a Revlon clipper with the rusty hinge and an orange stick to dig under nails.
They work well. You have to take small snips on your toenails, and the clippers are sharp. But getting into tight corners of ingrown nails is much easier with these clippers than with conventional ones. Now I can be my own podiatrist (almost, anyway).

These clippers are very well made and strong. Even heavy nails are clipped easily. My only caution is that they are also very sharp so you need to be careful using them. I managed to clip off a portion of skin next to my one toenail which bled like crazy. It was my fault for not being more careful.

Fabulous! Makes a distasteful job a breeze. I bought these nippers in order to cut his toe nails. He has dementia and cannot groom himself. I tried all sorts of other clippers, but found that they were inadequate to clip his thick nails. It would take an hour to chip away at them. I received these nippers a few days ago. It only took me about 15 minutes to complete this task. Not so bad anymore.
Wow had not realized my old toenail clippers for my thick nail I have on each foot, were so dull. Got to be a tad more careful with these when I use them but was so easy to cut that one toe nail that's so thick. I'm just loving them so glad I went with the Red color as well. As well as it came in a very fancy box as well.
