Unit is very good, speed control works great as I can dial in the speed I want for the particular bit. Locking chuck with a 1/4 turn twist is nice and precise, holds bits without slipping. Some of my cheap bits have a shank that is a few thousandths too big and they won't go in th chuck. Handle balance is good, zero vibration when operating at all speeds, 50,000 rpm is far faster than the nail salon machine (JD700) I have been using. Power is also more than the salon tool. Tool head can be changed to an angled one I suppose as the head is easily removed without tools though I am not sure where to buy the head. Control box is heavy-duty and all metal, switches are good quality, connectors are twist lock so they will not fall off. Foot petal is all metal. Lowest speed is around 5 on the dial which translates to 5000 rpm, bit seems to be turning slower than this and there is little power at this rpm. Top speed of 50 (50,000rpm) is smoking and I didn't try stopping the chuck with my hand. The cord to the handle is approximately 5 feet long, it is a good length. Cord is made of good quality insulated wire, the outer sheath is a plastic type material and not rubber SO cord, it is fairly flexible but doesn't coil up for storage all that great, even after a month it still has the compression set from shipment when it was tied in a tight bundle. The instructions consist of a 4 fold 8.5 x 15 color printed two sided single sheet, one side is printed in Chinese, the other in English. There is no country of manufacture on any part of the machine, there is not even a model number. Nor is there a website address to find more info. I am impressed with the overall build quality, how nicely the head parts fit together and the rugged metal parts for the case and foot pedal.
Several minor things I don't like:
The plastic handle rest is slick and it is easy for the motor/ handle to slide out of it or for the rest to slide on the table, I used Locktite GO2 glue to line the base and the curved rests, no more slipping.
The power cord is very short, only about 18 inches long
Overall a very good machine. I recommend it.
