I bought these because they were recommended for gel manicures. Love them!
They are SO gentle on my natural nails! I'm tired of rough emery boards, metal files and others that are supposed to be "also" useful on natural nails - which tear them up! This is a relief.
Yet, I could also use them to file down the excess gel polish in spots. They're tough!
One thing that wasn't clear at order: the thinner sides are somewhat rounded, but are not textured for edge filing. Only the wide, flat sides are used for filing.
They are a little small, and thicker than I'd expected, but I didn't spend much time analyzing the size when I ordered. Check with a ruler before ordering to confirm this is the size you want (purse / travel size). They're about as long as my finger. I suppose, with this many, I can color coordinate them with my purses.

These are the best nail files around and they last for years. My nails are very thick so I love them.
