I've had ingrown toenails for decades but don't want to go get shots in toes so the doctor can cut them back. Finally found this tool & it's really helpful. Nifty set! I got this as I had my big toenail removed about 9 months ago (I dropped a shelf and then a 10' 2x6 on it, oops!) and it's almost fully grown in, but it's struggling at the last minute. The new nail got stuck on the end of my toe because the toe/nail bed had made due without a nail for almost a year, so it was growing far more narrowly than the nail was. It was kind of weird because in the middle of the brand new nail there was a stress crack forming and I needed to find a way to get into the side nail bed, without messing everything up, to relieve it. It isn't gross, it's not ingrown, it was just growing in odd. I also didn't want to waste yet another trip to the podiatrist, especially for him to just trim it and then for me to go home and still have to buff it.
Truly a great little kit, and if you have a nail removed, I would almost get this as a post-care item. When it's growing in, there's a bunch of weird edges, and this would've been great six or theee month ago. I think getting this earlier would've prevented the issue I originally purchased this for!
These are actually super handy. I bought these because my right big toe was starting to give me a little trouble. I don't have a history in ingrown toenails, but I've been having some discomfort issues here and there lately. These were surprisingly helpful. I don't know how they supposed to be used, but the flat one helped me kinda get in there and then I used the grindy one to open a path in the front of my toe for the side of the nail to come out. I surprised myself with how I solved it with these and it worked great.

Nicely made. Using these takes patience, so I have been very gentle trying these out. they do come in a small zipper pouch with is nice to store them in. they are long enough to allow for a good grip.
The thin file helps remove the sharp edges of the nail. A big advantage where regular files do not work.
These are very nice tools. A refined version of what I already had. The part that you use to slide under your nail is very thin which really helps. I was storing them in the plastic case that came with them, but they started to rust. I've had no trouble with that, however, since I just put them in the drawer with my other pedicure things. If you made sure they were thoroughly dry, you could probably store in the case.
